I’ve begun to wonder if there isn’t a better way to socialize on the web. My thought is using the syndication feature in WordPress (wordpress.org) or even aggregation with PlanetPlanet (planetplanet.org) to categorize groups of personal sites.

I know it would be incredibly difficult to manage. The aggregation would have to be monitored by human beings in order to prevent spam. Link farming would be prevalent without a rating system.

While a difficult proposition, isn’t this closer to Tim Berners-Lee’s notion of the semantic web?
